Thank you

I just found two out of three of my overnight sleep studies. They really don't say much. I don't even remember where I did my other one. Those two don't say much about the overall percentage of sleep I obtained in each stage. I do remember in one appt seeing that I had 5% in stage three and four but can't find that documentation.

I also don't have the day sleep studies only the night. I am sure the clinics will mail me a copy. One sleep study showed that I fell asleep within 5 minutes three out of five times. The other...I don't know/

The dx was alpha intrusion. They both said to rule out obstructive sleep apnea although I only had one episode during one of the studies and zero at another one. That is strange. I weigh 107 pounds and really don't have a problem in this area.

I am now starting to have catepelxy symptoms. I didnt realize it was that until I started reading this forum. A few days ago while walking, I felt like my legs are going to give away. I am always dropping things, soemtimes out of weakness and other times out of being a clutz. Yes, I am a clutz. There are times I just feel weak. As for having those symptoms when I am under strong emotional situations, I don't know. I am usually sitting down.

I am nervous about my next sleep study. Some days I can have 9 dreams and have them immediately when I fall asleep. Those days I wake up and feel unrested and have fibro symptoms. Other days I feel like I haven't even got out of stage two sleep. Some of those times I can't function and others I am just fine (so perhaps sometimes I did get into deep sleep). It varies night to night. I am nervous that they won't get me when I have the many REM dreams...where I probably skip the stage three and four sleep. Then they won't see the true problem. Regardless, I am certain they will still see the alpha intrusion.

What does this mean?
Number of sleep stage changes were 210. It dropped down to 144 changes per night with the cpap. The most dramatic change was in her histogram where we saw prolonged period of good quality sleep while using the CPAP. These were intermingled with period of marked sleep fragmentation and frequent arousals...

So, even with a CPAP, I had frequent arousals. Isn't that evident that I should try Xyrem?I have tried everything, seriously. Provigil makes me feel strange. Ritalin works well but doesn't help with the cognitive functioning when I really lack sleep.. I really really hope that I can get Xyrem. I looked into the qualifications with my policy and I could definitely get it if needed.

So, How many sleep changes per night is typical??
