Don't worry as much about saying or doing the wrong things. The best way to respond to the inconvient naps is not to wake him. When he does awake,, simply ask him if he had a nice nap.

He will of course act embarrassed. Show him it is not big deal. Try to put yourself in his shoes and act accordingly.
