My friend tends to be very candid about being tired; he'll come in to work in the morning with his hood up and deliberately flail around complaining that he's tired. In our industry people automatically assume it's because he's been up all night being geeky, even when he shuts himself in a room and takes a nap at lunch.
I never suspected anything at all until he told me and it did fall into place, then, but I think he's doing a good job of being discreet.
Obviously, I absolutely respect his privacy and have no intention of divulging information he hasn't shared himself. It wouldn't be my place.
