I lived here back in 2002-2003, when I was first diagnosed and also in the early days of Provigil. Perhaps nurtured by those of us who were newly on the medication, or those newly diagnosed because of greater awareness of N due to Provigil, the forums were Fast and Furious. We would burn through an entire forum in 3 months. That year of my life is spread out over forums 21-24. I poured over every new entry daily, even hourly, and responded to 1/5 of them at my height of activity.
A sleepless night tonight (rare for me these days, and likely due to having slept for the past 4 days with the Swine Flu...) has me up searching the old forums for conversations and experiences from that time.
This message board provided me a safe place to express ideas, vent frustrations, and find myself as I readjusted to life as a PWN. Diaries are not 'my thing'...I need real people on the other end, reading, responding, and my record of this process is kept here on SleepNet for all the world to read (and I hope they do - more people need to understand N!).
