My daughter was diagnosed at 17. She is now 18. We have tried many drugs including Provogil. My daughter has gone through months of depression with all of this. There were times when we said the same thing that you have. The personality was gone from what we knew of it. However, this will level off. Their bodies have to adjust to the medication that will work for them -- and they will. This may not be the right medicine and yet, with time, it may be just perfect. Just realize that you have given a name to something undiagnosed. It is hard enough for an adult to go through life with Narcolepsy let alone a teenager. I still get frustrated with different things that happen. My daughter is just now starting to get her old personality back again. It seems like it has been forever -- it has been nearly a year. My daughter has been in counseling and that has helped tremendously. Hang in there, mom. The medicines will help eventually.
