It took me about 1 year to convince my GP that I might have an actual sleep disorder, but I wasn't extemely addement about it, I would just mention while I was in his office for other things that I was tired all the time. Finally, after I hit a parked car (the second time I had done this) I got serious about it and told him I had a real problem I neede to find out what it was.

The strange thing is that I simply had a Sleep-deprived MRI done and was diagnosed. I did not have a MSLT done until 2 years later, because my new doctor required it to confirm the diagnosis. The MLST confirmed the exact diagnosis that I had previously.
