I have been diagnosed with IH and generally speaking it is just as you say, excessive sleepiness. It can have a number of causes. My particular stain is Central Nervouse System IH. That is, for some reason, my brain never goes into deep sleep and I "wake up" every 6 to 10 minutes all night.

It is NOT true however, that we do not have any of the same symptoms as Narc. I suffer from cataplexy, sleep paralysis, and hallucinations and yet I do not have Narc.

It is also NOT true that naps do not help. When I'm feeling extremely fatigued I try to grab a 10 - 20 minute nap and I can usually get through another several hours feeling functional.

I'm not sure where you're info came from but you might recheck your source. Mine is from my sleep lab doctor and personal experience.

Happy napping.
