I can see what your saying, as if someone has letters after their name it is hoped that they know what their talking about. However that does not mean that there is not any truth in what someone says, who has no letters after their name.
I used to respect Dr's, but no more. I was put onto Dexedrine by a competant specialist, which dramatically improved my quality of life. As soon as he retired my GP put me onto SLEEPING TABLETS, how stupid can you get!!!
Perhaps I should not generalize, based on my experiences, but it seems that unfortunately I'm not alone.
In my opinion, letters after your name mean that you can say whatever you like, & even if it is utterly ludicrous, it goes. The point is taken as fact even if it is in opposition to all logic.
My experience of the medical proffession? is no different than being treated like a laboritory rat.
Unfortunately qualifications are used in order to judge someones authenticity, but really it is the IQ which counts. I wonder what the IQ of some of these doctors is? In my experience about zero, & that's being generous.
They work 9-5 & forget all about us once they go home. We have to live with the consequences of their actions, even if their reasoning makes no sense at all, just because they have letters after their name.
I don't want to particularly get into an argument about this, there is no argument. Perhaps your experiences are more positive, regarding the medical proffesssion. That shows that you have a good, intelligent doctor. I only wish that I was so confident.
Narcoleptics continue to be mis-diagnosed as depressed, schizophrenic, lazy etc., which clearly illustrates how incompetant the medical proffession? is. Even when the evidence is completely obvious that the individual has narcolepsy.
