I'm 19 too and I have cataplexy which started really slowly with a slight twitch of muscles in my face and gradually got worse to the point where I have no control at all sometimes and just drop to the floor in an extreme case. It doesn't have to be a really extreme emotion though. If I'm talking to someone I don't know well it can happen, (possibly as I'm fairly shy due to people's reactions to it) or just simply walking along if I'm extremely tired. I have also noticed numbness in my hands and feet sometimes (especially "pins and needles" which occur really easily now) but think it may have started at the same time as I started taking dexamphetamines. The first things that happen usually are my hands start to shake and my knees wobble or buckle. I drop stuff all over the place and in the worst case scenario fall down and everyone knows if my hands shake even slightly, grab anything I'm holding. Loss of muscle seems common in the arms for less severe cases however if your fingers are permanently numb it could be more serious and definitely worth seeing a doctor over. Numb toes can often be a sign of spinal damage and/or circulation problems but I don't know about fingers.
As for sex, Orgasm doesn't seem to do much to me although seems to be harder to achieve than before. On a couple of occasions though if sex is really good or is more an intense emotional experience than usual I have pretty much collapsed and been unable to move for a few seconds to a minute but always manage to recover fairly quickly. Luckily I have an understanding boyfriend who doesn't think I'm "a starfish". Primarily though, it has no real effect but then Cataplexy occurs to me mostly when I laugh. I've had this boyfriend since before I got it though, I wonder what would happen if I was with someone I wasn't so comfortable with.
