I was wondering if any other people using Provigil have noticed
if it can affect concentration. My concern is to be able to
keep track of multiple things and be organized and to remember
my priorities rather than going off on tangents all the time...
affects of my Attention Deficit Disorder. I realize that (most?) other
people here probably don't have ADD, but do you notice if it helps
to let you be organized and remember your priorities during the
hours that you're awake?

Also, do you see the effects of Provigil the same day you take
it? Or does it need to build up in your system? Can you skip
a day and not feel the effects and then feel them again when
you take it?

Thanks!

Some background on me:

I don't seem to have Narcolepsy, or at least not the
major common problems. I can often stay awake during
the day and have never even started to doze off while driving
under normal conditions. I've don't think I've had problems
with loss of strength or paralysis when waking/dozing off,
although I'm not 100% sure.

I do, however, has problems sleeping and also have a severe
case of ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder.

I've found that Adderall works great for both the sleep
problems and the ADD. Adderall is a mixture of Amphetamine
and Dextroamphetamine, plus the slow-release versions of
each of these. I'd recommend it for anyone who's trying
Ritalin sine it was a nice smooth release that lasts about
twice as long. (Use about 40% less adderral than Ritalin
since it's stronger.) [Disclaimer: But I'm not a doctor, so
check with your doctor, etc, etc, etc...]

My problem, though, is that even though Adderall helps all
my major daytime problems, I have to take a high dose of it
(40 mg/day) to get occasional full results. So I'm looking
for alternatives.

I'm seeing both a sleep doctor and an ADD specialist (Dr. Raty,
a famous co-author) and both suggested that I try Provigil in
addition to Adderall and antidepressants. I'll be starting the
Provigil soon.
