Prozac/Provigil: Narco, depression, and anxiety

Posted by JOHN on January 31, 2000 at 20:17:15:

I was recently diagnosed with N about 3 weeks ago and have begun taking 200 mg of Provigil/day. In these past three weeks, though, I've become depressed and have seen a psychiatrist 2 times. At first the shrink was hesitant to prescribe any medication to alleviate the depression/anxiety, until I spoke with my neurologist; my neurologist advised me that the shrink was correct in holding off on any anti-depressants until provigil was tried out fully.

I just saw my shrink today, though, and she gave me enough prozac samples for 2 weeks (10 mg) per day. Is there anyone out there who has suffered depression as a result of Narcolepsy? And, if so, what drugs did you find most effective?? I am going to see my neurologist tomorrow and will let you know of the outcome.
