John, I took provigil for excessive daytime sleepiness for a couple of months and it made me really depressed. If you've only started feeling depressed since you've been taking the medicine, maybe the medicine is either causing the problem or at least making it worse than it would otherwise be. I had to stop taking provigil because it made me feel so bad. If you don't feel better soon, maybe another medicine would work better for you. Good luck finding something that works for you.
