Just a few comments... I agree with Deb... I am not experiencing my "freewill" when I am having SP, and when I try to exercise my "freewill" and on rare occassions, can "breakthrough" I am totally absolutely exhausted from the struggle.
My second comment is that your analogies of the two different individuals hearing voices, the 15 year old boy, and the young child for comparisons of "evil" and "Good" influences, I think lacks vital information to draw conclusions from... This 15 year old, could of possibly been undiagnosed with schizophrenia, or other psychosis and the young boy with the wonderful talent could be a matter of undiscovered functioning. Scientist are still undertaking the tremendous challenge of understanding the brain. So,is it possible that there is something "different" in this boys brain chemistry that causes his wonderful gift? So my point is that drawing conclusions without facts is not a way to approach a hypothesis.
I do believe that God interacts with us individualy, as our individual perceptions allow for interpretation. As unique as each individual human being is, so is the experience of "Godly interactions." I can hear from God through prayer, thoughts, other people, and yes dreams, any resource that is relevent to me, but not necessarily you. None of my experiences with sleep paralysis has been positive, which does not parallel with the other ways I draw from His Spirit, but by all means could very possibly be for you. The "dream state" could be the unlimited potential of the unconsciousness that taps into a source of unlimited information, and is communicated in a way that the conscious mind obviously cannot grasp fully. Does this mean this is from God? My theory is that it is a universal wealth of information, that we are yet to evolve to, which includes spiritual information, but certainly is not limited to this.
You can of course pick my theory appart as well as yours or any one else's... relativity..is a key.
