I took Adderall for about a year and a half and still take it occasionally to supplement Provigil. A single dose of Adderall will not last all day--I had to take it twice daily and now when I take it on top of Provigil, I take 20 mg. about 4 p.m. and still have no difficulty falling asleep by midnight. The dosage required varies widely from person to person, but make sure you're taking an adequate dose for your particular variety of N before you give up on the drug. I found it the easiest to tolerate of all of the stimulants I tried (Ritalin, Cylert, and Dexedrine). Good luck.
