Debra,
I know that Narcoleptics have more REM sleep than others. It also doesn't follow the normal pattern and can interrupt the day.
So the Dr. prescribed the tricyclic antidepressant Vivactil to suppress REM sleep. That should get rid of the hallucinations at night and prevent a cataplectic attack or full-blown sleep attack during the day.
My questions are, 1) How do antidepressants suppress REM sleep, and 2) Don't we need REM sleep ?
I agree, water is yucky... but this vivactil is drying out my mouth so bad I feel like I ate paste!
Motivation to excercise? When you find it, share please...
=) Jen
