The price of Provigil!

Posted by Marie on March 11, 2000 at 13:00:21:

I finally feel awake, thanks to Provigil. I could go on about the miracles of this drug (although I'm still waiting for bad news on side effects someday...I can't imagine that a drug that no one knows how it works can be harmless!), but today I'm feeling especially unhappy about one thing: the price! If I want to go pick mine up today (prescription ran out, had narcolepsy doc call in the order), it will cost me 150 dollars, thanks to my HMO. SO I have to wait 'til I can get an appointment with my regular doctor, get a referral, and most of it will be covered, thankfully. But that means quite a wait without it. I consider myself lucky to have insurance that will get around to covering it eventually, but what do people with NO insurance do? Is it this expensive in other countries?

Thanks, and this is a great forum. I'm not alone! Or tired because I should go to bed earlier and not work so hard, as friends and family have told me for years.
