Caroline, without medication I am down and I mean in bed or on the davenport. I remember very well what it is like. I couldn't get up off the davenport for more than 15 minutes without laying back down. There was nothing inside me left that made my mind or body go. It was gone!I couldn't hardly dial a telephone at times. In the testing I did fine. But you don't have to think about much other than what they are asking. It is dealing with many thoughts that I got confused, and still do.( The normal brain functioning) I don't know how to explain it, other than the examples I have given on the forum.
But it was allot worse without the meds! And it's bad now. I would be back to square one if I had to go without medication. I am ok I think, with my medical insurance, other than I have to pay for it. My husbands insurance is the cadilac of the industry. So we have everything free...vision free glasses, counseling, common legal matters were free, and more. The only co-pay was the $2.00 for prescriptions, everything else is covered 100%. This will come to an end in May, so I am trying to get all of my medical needs taken care of before then.

I have heard many stories of the experiences of people who have had big problems with the HMO's. My opinion is that most have top heavy heirarchy that have heavy pockets from all the money, and could care less about how they are affecting the lives of people. Their heart is at the bottom line of a financial report.
