Right, I recommend that both you & your son go for the HLA-DR2 Antigen blood test.
It doesn't prove that you/he has Narcolepsy, but is a BIG step towards it.
98% of us carry the gene, so a negative result allmost proves that it isn't narcolepsy, by a 2% margin for error. A Positive result however, gives a 1 in 4 chance that it is Narcolepsy (25%), because 25% of the 'normal' population carry the gene anyway.
I heard my result today for the test, & mine is Positive.
