Please tell me more about the blood test.

OK,

So the blood test is a pretty touchy subject right now... funny that it was just brought up in my world yesterday. My boyfriend asked me if I planned to go back to the Dr. and ask for the blood test to confirm my diagnosis. He said it is just too important of a thing to trust to just one doctor's reading of the sleep study. I sort of agree with him, but also wonder if he doubts that I really have this or if it is "something I'm doing."

I explained that I had read a few things "on the Internet" that said that the blood test is not reliable, since the gene or hormone or whatever it is can be found in people w/o, and people w/narco can test negative. I couldn't remember the percentages, or where I had read it.

So he said that instead of the blood test then, I should get a second opinion. "Just because its such an important thing."

Thoughts? Opinions? Research? Ideas?

Jen
