Again, the blood test is not the determining factor. The clinical symptoms first. If your sleep study showed narcolepsy, go with that. A sleep study with a MSLT cannot prove you don't have narcolepsy due to the environmental factors and may need repeating. However, if the MSLT showed narcolepsy, it is a positive diagnosis. There is no other disorder that will give those results.
It is common for those around us to have their doubts. There is nothing for them to 'see'. Giving them literature on narcolepsy is the best way for them to understand what you are experiencing. I believe we have to show some patience towards them just as we want their understanding of us. (I hope that makes sense, I know what I am trying to say.)
