Hi,
Yesterday I found out I am not lazy or insane but have Narcolepsy. I think that is a good thing?
I am a 40 year old female, and have had the sleep paralysis and scary "am I awake or asleep" nightmares since I was a teenager. I also startle very easily and when really startled will drop to the ground. I also am ALWAYS tired. But, I have never fallen alseep in the middle of something..which is what I always thought narcolepsy was.
I finally was so tired of thinking I was crazy that I began to search the web for information. Man was it nice to know I was not alone! My doctors always looked at me funny when I mentioned these symptoms before - after a while, I just didn't tell anyone. That is until my 19 year old son told me our house was haunted. I asked him why he thought that - he started telling me about these dreams he had.....
Well, found a sleep disorder clinic, went yesterday, guess what!
I am glad I found this forum - will read around a bit to learn more.
Anyone with advise where to begin? Thanks, Lisa
