Hints for starting Provigil

Posted by Merrill on April 25, 2000 at 14:40:57:

My new sleep doc (we recently moved to Brimingham AL from Knoxville TN) convinced me to do a weekend trial with Provigil starting this Sat. & Sun. I'm currently taking cylert, 37.5 mg once a day. However, he is concerned about the effects of cylert on my liver (I've been on cylert for about 4-5 years). He also mentioned that Provigil seems to get at the undelying biochemical problem but stimulants such as cylert or ritalin don't. OK, so I'll try it and see what happens.

Dr Snooze (as my wife calls him) mentioned that there was the possibility of headache and nausea for the first few days. He suggested not taking the Provigil on an empty stomach and also taking a couple of tylenol or ibuprophen along with the Provigil.

So all you Provigil users out there, what else can I expect in the way of side effects and what can I do about them if they occur?

Thanks for your input.

Merrill
