Posted by Angi on April 26, 2000 at 07:49:50:3 months ago, I was "tentatively" diagnosed with Subwakefulness Syndrome. I have been trying to find some information on subwakefulness syndrome. ie: exactly what is it?
I have checked numerous sleep sites, medical journals, forums, etc. I realize with a prevelance of 50 documented cases there isn't much out there, but I can't even find a "real" definition.
The best I have found is: a "proposed" sleep disorder, complaints of sleepiness with no MSLT evidence of sleepiness.
Surely there must be more to it than that. I recall the DR saying something about difficulty telling when I am asleep and when I am awake. Due to the "subwakefulness syndrome" I figured he meant that I had some "sleep waves" when I was awake. A friend who is a sleep tech, thinks that the difficulty telling if I am asleep or not is alpha waves when I am drifting off to sleep. I am really just curious.
I know there are quite a few of ya'll that have done a lot of research. So I was hoping, if anyone runs across anything on Subwakefulness Syndrome, if they would forward the information (or a link to the information) to me. My email is angirob@yahoo.com
Many ThanksAngi
