My experience with narcolepsy has been that the sleepiness comes on me in cycles. I'd be OK for a while, then it would hit me. Moving around also helps me, as does just doing something interesting of challenging. From what I have read in this forum, many others with N. have the same sort of pattern.

The only way to be sure if you have narcolepsy or not is to see a sleep specialist (NOT a family doc or neurologist not trained in sleep problems) and have a sleep study and multiple sleep latency test (MSLT) done.

Free advice -- get an appointment with a sleep doc. in your area. Your symptoms sound not only like mine, but also like the symptoms many others on this froum talk about.

Good luck and let us know what happens. This forum is an excellent place for advice and support.
