Do all narcoleptics have EDS?

Posted by jake on April 28, 2000 at 14:15:10:

Hi everyone,
I was wondering whether or not it is possable for a narcoleptic to have cataplexy, sleep paralisis and other secondry symptoms, but without the EDS?
You see, as yet i have not been diagnosed with (n), but i do suspect i have the condition. My one thing that gives me doubts is the fact that i don't seem to get EDS. Automatic behaviour, and ctaplexy seems to be my only symptoms.
I used to have a bit of EDS but not really now. Does (n) symptoms become more severe as time goes on, or does this sound as if im not actually a narc?
Are there other narcs out there that don't have bad EDS? How bad does it have to be before you can be diagnosed as having this condition? I would appreciate it very much if someone could give me information on this subject.

thanks.

Jake.
