This response is for Mitch and John,

I've been coming to this forum for some time. I feel fortunate to be able to come here for support from, and hopefully, togive support to others who share thi diagnosis of narcolepsy.

I respect the diversity of ideas, beliefs, and experiences shared here. It is obvious that we have much in common. It is just as obvious that there are many areas in which we differ.

I am also grateful to Sandman for sponsoring this forum. I respect his right to facilitate it at his discretion. He rarely inteterjects his opinions, and I appreciate his support.

I hope that we can continue to come here to share our feelings openly without fear of being insulted. I refer specifically to your comments on religion, intelligence, and education.

As for religion, faith is very much a part of who I am, as it is to many of us here. Those of us who share that faith should not be condemned by those of us who don't. I respect Sandman's request and will limit my comments. But I do find it hurtful when someone feels the need to insult my beliefs. Can we not listen to and support others who differ? Can we not refrain from hurtful, non-productive responses?

As to education and intelligence, they really have no significance here except in regard to our educating ourselves on Narcolepsy. We shouldn't judge each other on our education, or lack of. Education and intelligence are not the same thing. Having an education does not necessarily guarantee intelligence. Many who come here many not have had the opportunity to go to college, but their input is as valid, and should be as respected, as any others.

We are here to support each other. Intelligent people can agree to disagree.

Thanks for listening.
