Your daughter could easily have both narcolepsy and sleep apnea.
Is she being treated for the apnea? Usually, sleep latency testing is done (napping to test for narcolepsy) in the lab the day after titration of a CPAP (to treat the apnea.) If there's any chance she'll wear a CPAP mask at night, I'd request it!
I don't know about the Ritalin SR. I take 10 mg of reular Ritalin 3times a day - I have both apnea and Idiopathic Hypersomnia. It works fine that way, and most days I only take it 2times.
The CPAP and Ritalin together help me so much. Without both, I need a 2-3 hour nap, even with 10 or more hours of sleep.
Good luck.
