My doc says the SR ritalin is supposed to work for 8-10 hours. I like it sooo much better than the non-slow release as I felt up and down as it wore off and then kicked in. I cannot get through the evenings with only the SR, so I take a 5 mg in the afternoon, and I take a scheduled nap inbetween the two medications. I am sure my dad had both N and sleep apnea, although never diagnosed for either, and never wanted to be treated.
