I was reading an article about Interleukin-6. Not sure about the spelling. Anyway, under normal circumstances this substance is secreted at night while we're resting/sleeping. There were lab tests where it was found in high levels during the day of sleep deprived people.

I thought this was so fascinating because- I don't know how it was worded but this is what I got out of it - higher levels of this stuff reduces, or eliminates, a sense of well-being. So if the rest of the world got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom - then had to continue to function that way, with their brain wrapped up in a blanket, going to work all bleary, trying to manage with cotton batten stuffed into their cranial cavity. THEN it would be better understood what our lives are like. How many people smile in the middle of the night? Is it any wonder we often don't feel good?

So, you're welcome. I'm thinking of you.
