No, I don't mind you asking... I guess from the worst point to this point it took about five years. The most of which I spent trying to find out what was wrong, and then once I found out, I had to come to some level acceptance, but not until after a tremendous struggle with trying to be "normal" through drug therapy. I didn't get this much acceptance until I had been chucked full of Provigil, Welbutrin, and Ritalin Sr. So much until I became Psychotic. That was the beginning of the end of the panic of trying to fit back into the mainstream of society. Believe me, when you start hearing voices, it gets your attention. It was only a reaction to medication, but an eye opener for me. I now take Welbutrin 150SR 1x AM and Ritalin 10mg 3X. It does no good for me to try to keep the Ritalin on a scheduled dosage, because it becomes ineffective sooner. So like this AM I have not taken a dosage as I am saving it so that I can function at a more normal pace this evening (I still work part time) when I don't work evenings, I take it in the morning, or not at all and just sleep or rest. I found it is longer between the necessity of drug holidays if I do it this way. I still have to take the holiday, but not as soon. I take many many supplements and herbs... I have been able to get menopause symptoms under control through supplements, but not the narc. Without the Ritalin, I nap about every 2 or 3 hours, as a rule. I did have an exception to that last week. I don't know why, but I felt good... (our good not the rest of the worlds perspective of feeling good) and was able to work in my garden for 4 hours!!!!! I have learned now that once in a blue moon I am blessed to have such days. I use to get my hopes up that I was getting better. That only caused more anxiety and disappointment. I think we all have to work out our own "way". This for me works.
