new and confused.........

Posted by j on June 24, 2000 at 19:38:35:

hello. i just found this site today as i've recently become more curious as to the symptoms of narcolepsy. please don't mind my lack of knowledge in the area, i am just now beginning to learn certain terms.
so here's my story.....i am 21 yrs. old and can remember experiences in high school occuring every so often where i'd wake up in the middle of the nite and not be able to open my eyes or move my body even though i was completely aware of what was going on. this continued through college, but not as often. just recently though, i've had experiences in the middle of the nite where i wake up, can't open my eyes, but i feel like my body is moving kind of swaying in my bed. i've also heard voices, language that doesn't make sense, and experienced hallucinations where i think i've seen the shadow of a figure in my bed. these experiences have gotten more intense w/ time, although i've never had them during the day and they always occur after about 20 mins of lying in bed trying to fall asleep. the closest i've was the last time when almost immediately after closing my eyes to go to sleep my body went numb. i know i've said a lot but am really seeking some answers as to what to do. thanks.
