Thanks to all who replied to my above posting.

For the record however, I don't believe I fell asleep --- I now think it was automatic behaviour.

As long as I am permitted a driver's liscence, I *will* drive --- not because I am "selfish" or would want to put others' lives at risk, but because DOCTORS test me, and tell me it is still safe to drive even after I tell them my experience.

I am on Provigil, I take it faithfully, and I am in touch with my body enough to know when it is unsafe for me to drive. I am sorry if others in this forum do not agree. I went to school with someone who was crippled for life after being hit by a drunk driver. I would never dream of endangering anyone in the same way. I would also never dream of making my life any harder than it already is until neccessary.

Yes, I drive. Yes, I am a tired person. NO, I am not putting your lives at risk. SCREAMING AT ME does not encourage me to listen to your point, however valid it may be. "Sleeping Peacefully" is not a foreign concept to me, regardless of whatever tragedy there may be in the day ---- that's why I'm in this prison called Narcolepsy in the first place. I can always sleep at night.
