SED RATE DETERMINES IF THERE IS INFLAMMATION IN THE BODY SOMEWHERE. THE ANA TEST DETERMINES IF YOU ARE PRODUCING AUTOANTIBODIES IN YOUR SYSTEM. THE NORM FOR THE ANA IS 1:20 OR 1:40 DEPENDING ON WHAT LAB IS USED. SOME PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY ELDERLY HAVE A POSITIVE ANA BUT DO NOT HAVE AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE.
