Angie -

Hey, where did you get that E? Are they expensive? :)

I have to agree with you for the most part. But I happen to drive an SUV. A 1985 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with the wood panel sides. I love my Jeep very much! I drive down numerous dirt and gravel roads. I use it to take garbage to the dump, I use it to pull stumps out of the ground, I use it to go off road and I use it to go camping. It is extremely nice to have a very heavy 4-wheel drive when we get ice (we don't get snow down here, just ice). And I find it comforting to know that if I were in a wreck, I am protected by a larger heavier vehicle.

I am extremely careful when driving. I make sure I know my limitations and I make sure I am well rested before driving. I listen to lively music when driving. If I have a passenger I keep a conversation going. I have quit day dreaming while driving. I watch the other cars carefully and I try to keep myself entertained watching them. I also have a stretch of highway that I avoid. It is very long and straight, and for some reason, the sun seems very bright on that road, and I have a problem with bright lights and bright sunshine.

I also keep my vehicles well maintained. Tire pressure, condition of tires, oil changed regularly, all fluids are kept up, windshield wipers are in good shape, etc. I have a CB radio that I listen to frequently. (This alerts me to possible road conditions or wrecks up ahead and can be quite entertaining.)

I have also seen the morons you talk about. I think they travel all over the place, so we can all get a chance to see them. I have seen them driving 75 mph in a 70 mph zone and reading the classifieds in the newspaper. I have seen them cut in front of an 18 wheeler. I have seen them refuse to allow another car to merge. I have seen them cut across 4 lanes of traffic with no hint of a turn signal. And I swear I have had many a car try to hitch a ride up my tailpipe.

I find it quite scary that I may be in a wreck some day, that would be someone else's fault, yet because of my medical history, I would lose my license.

Angi (lacking an E)
