I have been taking Provigil for about 18 months. I started off on 200mgs and slowly worked my way up to 500mg a day. Luckily I have had no side effects from it and I have found it a god send. As I was previously on Dexamphetamine which sent me loopy!. I would think that you have been started off on a low dose just to get your body used to it, then you can see how you go and work out the right dose and routine to suit you, with your Doctors help. I know that I am on a high dosage, but it works for me and I'm quite happy with it and it enables me to work full-time.
