Peace be on you,
It's funny you should mention hearing Old School Hip Hop, I once heard music in a sleep paralysis state that sounded real gangsta rappish, and the voice rapping sounded exactly like TuPac. When I woke up later that morning, I would soon hear my upstairs neighbor bumpin' Pac really loud. I thought maybe I had heard it while in my paralysis and unconsciously "incorporated" it. But the funny thing was my sleep paralysis episode happened earlier that night in the wee hours of the morning, and it was unlikely my neighbor was playing loud music at that time. I confirmed with the other person in my household who sleeps in another room directly underneath my neighbors stereo system and they didn't hear anything at all during the night.
The heavyness and tingling sensations you have are maybe the physical effects of Sleep Paralysis, the other stuff is probably mental. It's been said that sleep paralysis results from a lack of oxygen to the brain. I'm not positive on this cause I'm not a scientist. Its also related to the brain going from a one state to another (alpha to beta or something like that) but then trying to 'revert' back mentally but not physically, which is why the mind stays conscious while the body is catching Zs.
To me, I would say you are having sleep paralysis experiences because they sound similar to mine. But you will find that there are a wide range of SP experiences on this site. Yours and mine are pleasant, while others seem to always be nightmarish.
