Posted by dumpling on June 10, 2000 at 12:10:44:Hello. I had the four surgeries (UPPP, tonsils, septo, turbinate)in January. In May I returned to the sleep lab for a repeat sleep test. I have gone from mild sleep apnea (0 obstuctive, 56 hypopneas) to significant sleep apnea (73 obstuctive, 30 hypopneas). The ENT could not give a reason for this, saying it was unfortunate. However, I have a constant sore (dry) throat, my sinus are always full, I have not regained a lot of the tastbuds (chocolate tastes terrible!), and I have the sensations of a large lump or obstruction in the back of my throat. Doctor says there is not anything unusual in my throad and I would just have to get use to the sensations. (I think there is a lot of scar tissue) I was wondering if anyone else that has had this surgery exprienced any of these symptoms. I would love to hear from some of you. You may e-mail dumplingia@hotmail.com. Thank you
