I am on my fourth somno to the base of the tongue and have experienced only mild discomfort. Usaully only the first 6 to 8 hours do I need any pain meds. I was told by my doctor that I would need 8 to 10 treatments as each treatment reduces the tongue by a tiny bit. Also I was prescribed antibiotics as a precautionary measure against infection. I understood that there was a small chance of infection. I don't understand why you are still having pain but I think that I would be calling the doctor! Congratulations on the better sleep and wish you a speedy recovery.
