Posted by Bryan on June 12, 2000 at 08:50:55:Hello All, well today marks the end of week one and all is well. Yes the soreness is still there, but not as bad. I'm eating thing like mashed avocadoes, potato salad, Catfish pate'(my fav)soups, gumbo and broths, slushies and pops. I'm not sure if there is a limit to what I shouldn't eat or not...I am alternating between liquid tylnol and the pain meds and almost finished the amoxil. Don't want to go out much, too hot, mostly sleeping. The worst is that dry mouth expecially after awaking.
All this my seem a bit fast but trust me its all baby bites and steps. I'm not eating seven course meals by any means. A bite here and a bite there (after drugs kick in)but I think I'm getting my share of nutrition, liquids are another question. I feel like I'm only one step ahead of dehydration. I rarely ever really eliminate anymore, just drip, drip, drip. I try to take in fluids every waking moment, but at 6'5" 380# I think it takes quite a bit. I'm used to drinking 3-5 gallons of water per day. I can't wait till the day when I can again gulp down 2 quarts of cold water again, expecially without half running out my nose...
I don't seem too excited about going out into the real world now, an hour here and there but that's it, and not too far from home. Is that "normal" its not like me. When does the strengh and energy come back? How much is too much and when do I know when I'm "Over Doing IT"...All in all I think I'm too impatient with myself and progress, compaired to what.
Thanks for Listening,
"The Gutted Cajun"
