The logic, I understood it to be their experience, was that the muscles, tissues etc stretch and tend to revert back to their original position. This is the best that I can remember. I got a lot of information in a relatively short time, so I admit to being a bit fuzzy on many of the details. But, this particular conclusion hit me like a ton of bricks, and I am going to do the dental device before I do any surgery. I seem to be fortunate in the sense that my OSA seem to be site specific to the back of my tongue, so if there is any hope for a surgical cure, it is with the procedures affecting that area. They turn out to be some substantial procedures, so I want some assurances of success before I do them. Even the apparently benign somnoplasty has some serious considerations. And I'm not done testing to be sure that I don't have other problems beside OSA.
