Brian I can sympathise with you! I had the UPPP and Tonsils and Deviated Septim all done on 5/18/00 and still have a good deal of throat pain. I actually found warm chicken broth to help my pain out more than even the meds. It had an immediate soothing effect. Vicodin ES has been my friend through the whole ordeal. I am only taking 750Mg every six hours now as opposed to 1500Mg every six plus 600Mg of Ibuprofin and was throwing Oxycontin in the mix at night just so I could sleep. The throat pain was beyond description just last week and so far this week I would decribe it as a moderate sore throat. I am very much looking forward to the day I can swallow everything and anything with out even a whisper of pain. PS I tried the ice packs and ice chips and like I said warm fluid seemed to be the best for me. Also get in the habit of taking a traveling coffee cup with cool water along with you, I have found that keeping the throat moist at all times is the best!!! If you go very long at all without something to drink the old pain starts rearing it's ugly head again! Take special care and hang in there big guy, they say it is all worth it, I still have my doubts, but am still holding on to the hope. :-)
Dave
