I had just a tonsillectomy. You can read me earlier follow ups from couple of days ago. The set up of my mouth has changed since the operation and my throat muscles didnt exactly have to relearn how to swallow but it is certainly a different type of swallowing. More like a gulp.
Personally the pain was extremely severe due to a few complications that I had. Earache was in fact the most painful part. Cannot report on sleep quality as I have not had a really good nights sleep since the operation a month ago. BUT that could be just because of the pain etc. My Uvula has gone crooked and my soft palate has dropped slightly. My taste buds have changed but will apparently revert back to normal after about three months.
I must stress that this is my own experience and may not reflect on what yours will be.
Like they say. Short term pain Long term gain. lets hope so!
