Please see a specialist to check out the details, or see if Mayo clinic has a web page to subtantiate what I think I remember from an article I read somewhere; but, I think a few recent studies have shown that "sinus infections" may be caused by an individual's immune system reacting to certain mold's and/or fungus's and not necessarily bacteria or viruses. This would probably lead to a different treatment.

Again, consult with a specialist to see if this is in fact valid possibility.
