Posted by Toby on June 08, 2000 at 12:10:16:Today is 6-8-00. I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow AM for UPPP, T&A, deviated septum, etc. for a surgery scheduled
on 6-19. I have been reading these forums for a couple of months in preparation of this surgery, and most of what I have read scares the hell out of me. I still question the success of the surgery and the side effects which I will subject myself to if I go through with this.
I am going to attempt to convince the Doctor to save the UPPP for a later date and proceed with all other parts of the surgery. I am very concerned about the irreversabilty
of UPPP. It seem like it is a risk that I am being asked
to place myself in without any guarantees of success, and I'm not comfortable with that. Any encouraging thoughts,or am I hoping for relief without addressing all of the issues. Has anyone out there successfully been treated for apnea without the UPPP or trac? Please let me know if I'm dreaming.
Pretty funny, huh, I have not been able to do that for years.
