I had the same reaction when researching surgery options and finding this forum. There is a lot of good information and feedback available here but you need to take it in the proper context of your specific situation. Not everyone will have the same complications with surgery or CPAP. In order to make an informed decision you need to talk with as many people and doctors as possible until you are comfortable with your decision.

I can't give you much advise on the success of surgery since I am only 9 days post-op UPPP. However, I would question getting all of the surgeries at the same time. My ENT did not recommend UPPP along with deviated septum surgery because you do not want to be constantly breathing through your mouth after UPPP surgery. After going through UPPP, I would agree that it would make recovery much more painful if I had to breath only through my mouth.

Good luck.
