Could you talk ok with the 6 cuffed? Were you able to cap off during the day? What about the ten, do you talk ok with it in? Do you ever cap it off?

I don't know your situation but I do know that the larger size trachs are much easier to breath through (aka less effort from your heart for respiration) An 8mm is almost twice as easy as a 6 and a 10mm is almost 3 times as easy. If you can live with the 10, why not just keep it in permanently? Or go for an 8mm.


Before you were on the vent full time. Did you inflate the cuff in the PM and deflate in the AM?
