Well Scott, really I could not do very much at all with that # 6 cuffed tube. It was not easy to talk or breathe. I do let the cuff down even now in the day time even with my vent. I did go to a size 8 tube that worked well. Never tried it without the vent. I am on it 24\7. I was changed to the 10 with a deeper deep breath setting to as my doctor said feed my organs for awhile. I can't talk too well with the size 10, I feel so much better. Lot of things become little things and we adjust. I am thinking about keeping it. I just wish that anyone out there thanking about being trached will get it befor the damage is done.
