Trach collars?

Posted by Lee on June 28, 2002 at 04:20:55:

I was sent home with this very comfortable collar that has foam and a cotton back with velcro fasteners. The problems is that I have awakened with the trach tube laying on the pillow beside me. I have been able to put it back in with no pain the past three time but am afraid that I might not wake up til the stoma has reduced in size and I can't get the tube back in! Any suggestions? Also, while wearing this collar..I look like I am studying to be a priest! Are there any that look a bit more fashionable? Oh! One more thing is it normal for some air to escape out the stoma when bending or lifting? Thanks in advance! Lee
