Posted by SleepyAdia on June 28, 2002 at 15:35:44:I had the radiofrequency done today to have my turbinates shrunk.
They had me watch a movie a month ago.....they explained it as if I would have one shot in each nostril to numb it and the radiofrequency tool was like a lil gun, where they touched it to the turbinates, once and timed it and it was done. And they said, it is painless and likened it to a dentist visit.
NOPE! didn't happen
I had them put the needle to numb me at least 10-12 times in each nostril. AND the radiofrequency tool was a needle too! And when I would feel it, it would burn. So they would give me more and more shots of numbing stuff.
I had blood dripping out of my nose. I became dizzy and had a reaction and threw up.
As he finished up, my nose started to hurt.
He said I could use some of the tylenol 3 that he gave me for after surgery next week. So I tried that after severe pain. Feeling like someone punched me and broke my nose.
The pain reliever has not worked. I still feel it. grrrr
Has anyone ever experienced this much pain with this procedure.
According to the nurse, this RUDE doctor is a specialist in the field. And he is the one that does all these types of procedures in the area.
