When I had my first turbinate somnoplasty procedure 1.5 years ago it was only slightly painful (like going to the dentist) The way that a doctor anesthetises you is extremely important. For example I once had a minor surgery done and I was in excruciating pain because the doctor injecteed the local anesthesia improperly. A couple years later I had another doctor perform the same procedure, it was so painless that I didn't even know that he had completed the procedure. Also your doctor may of been stingy on the Lidocaine or inexperienced. I hope you are feeling better, Jose
